Description of goods & services

My name is Sarah Snell and I am a ceramics designer and maker. I sell my pottery to the public via my website, other online platforms, through independent galleries and at a small number of craft events.

Each piece is hand made by me from start to finish, so no two pieces are identical; they are all sisters not identical twins. Small variations in form and colour are to be expected and embraced, as part of what make these pieces unique. 

Looked after carefully, pieces should give many years of service. All pieces are food safe; all pieces are microwave safe, and dishwasher safe, except cake stands and those with leather/wood/wire additions. Please take care when washing the items, whichever method you choose. hand washing particularly fine pieces is recommended.

The information provided on my website is correct to the best of my knowledge at time of publication. However, Sarah Snell Ceramics gives no guarantees, warranties or assurances of any kind that the site is error free and reserves the right to make changes at any time.

Ordering

You have placed an order once you have completed the online checkout process. Your order will be confirmed via e-mail with the details of the items you have ordered.

I keep stock of most designs but it is not always possible to have all pieces, in all colours, in stock. If I have to make an item/s there will be a delay in supplying your order, and i will keep you updated on estimated delivery times.

Acceptance of an order is not automatic. Acceptance of your order is deemed to have been made when I despatch it. Regrettably there are instances when I will have to decline the order, for example:

  • If items are not available for either a technical or personal reason that means I am unable to fulfil it.

  • When I cannot obtain authorisation for payment

  • If there has been a pricing or descriptive error

  • If the order is to be delivered outside of the United Kingdom or to a PO Box

Please note that deliveries can be made outside of the UK . Please contact me and I will assess the feasibility, and wherever possible such orders will be fulfilled.

Special Order/out of stock Items - Please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery of special for these items.

  • Most pieces will be ready within this time, but in case you need it for a special occasion or a specific date it would be best to order early. Please contact me for details: sarahsnellceramics@gmail.com

Delivery

As a small independent maker I aim to provide you the customer with the best service by despatching your pieces as soon as possible and ensuring every piece send has been thoroughly checked before packing for delivery. I pack your pieces with great care so that they are able to withstand the postal system. I only use Royal Mail as they have consistently delivered my parcels without breakage, and in a timely manner.

For ‘In Stock’ Items: 

  • Your parcel will be sent via Royal Mail, 1st or 2nd class post using their “signed-for” service. For stock items I usually despatch within 2-4 working days of receiving the order. Due to the nature of handmade pieces there may occasionally be delays. I will contact you if there will be a delay in despatching your order over 7 working days.   •  Once your order is posted you will receive an e-mail from me giving details of despatch.

  •  A signature is required on delivery, and as the customer it is your responsibility to ensure that one can be obtained by Royal Mail. Any surcharges for re-delivery are the customer’s responsibility.               

  •  It is your responsibility of to provide me with the correct delivery address, including postcode, and any loss because of an incorrect address is the customer’s responsibility. 

  • Delivering your order to an address other than your billing address, for example, as a present or to a place of work. However, orders will not be successful if the billing address is not provided or if that billing address does not match bank records. 

Sarah Snell Ceramics cannot be held liable for delays or failure in delivery due to causes beyond our control.

Any liability will not exceed the purchase price of the pieces.

After 28 days I will be unable help & tracing a lost parcel is the customer’s responsibility. 

Returns & Refunds

I hope you will be happy with your purchase, however, if for some reason you require a refund, please contact me at sarahsnellceramics@gmail.com or use the contact form:

You can return pots you have ordered from me for any reason, at any time within 14 days of receipt, and receive a refund, credit note or exchange item to the value of the item, provided the following:

  • All returned products must be received in unused, undamaged and resalable condition with all original packaging to be eligible for return.

  • You are responsible for the cost of returning the items. I recommend using a ‘signed for’ service as I am unable accept responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit and I will be unable to refund, replace or issue credit note for your item.


Please note: sale items, personalised items, commissions, used or customer-damaged items, cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged.(statutory rights not affected).

Items Found to be Damaged on delivery - proof is required

  • I carefully check and package all items prior to posting. In the unlikely event your item is damaged on arrival

  • please contact me by email at: sarahsnellceramics.com as soon as you receive your delivery.

    • You must to include photographs clearly showing the damage to the item and clear photos of the packaging and any damage to it. 

    • I will not be able to consider claims where no photographic evidence is sent, or if contact is made more than 48 hours after delivery. 

The purchase price of returned items will be refunded within 7 days of safe receipt here.

Order Cancellation

Orders for in stock items cannot be cancelled once despatched. You are however, free to return them for a refund please see ‘Returns’ section above. 

Cancellation of Commissions/Personalised items/will be accepted on the following terms:

for a full refund - please e-mail me cancelling the order within 48 hours of the order being submitted.

  • Cancellations after 48 hours but within 10 days will be accepted by e-mailing me and will receive a 50% refund.

  • No refunds will be given after this time.

Payments

All transactions are in £ Sterling. Payments are currently taken by Paypal or direct bank transfer (If you would like to pay by Bank Transfer, please contact me before placing your order).

Please note orders will not be completed successfully if the billing address is not provided or if that billing address does not match bank records.

Customs and Import taxes

Please note that deliveries can be made outside of the UK . Please contact me and I will assess the feasibility, and wherever possible such orders will be fulfilled. 
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes or restrictions that may apply. I am not responsible for delays due to customs. 

Privacy

I will not divulge or pass on your email address, postal address or telephone number to any other company. I may contact you by email or telephone in response to any issues with an order or to answer any questions you may have.

Your data is hosted by Squarespace and will be retained…..If you wish to have your details removed please email me at:sarahsnellceramics@gmail.com and I will delete your data.
